This is a BDM/IDM (Brazilian/Indian Domestic Market) Toyota Etios Cross. This thing is so weird it's adorable! But because of its price tag, we don't see many of them around here. R$46k (~$17k USD) seems a bit to much for a platicky car like this one.

I usually don't like BDM "cross" or "adventure" cars, but the Etios actually looks better with the black plastics:

I kinda like it but general rules of jalopnik/oppo says that's not allowed because it's a modern Toyota that's not a new supra.

It's pretty much Toyota's version of the Suzuki SX4 AWD. That car I really liked, and don't mind this one either.

Haha, I feel like the same, because it's totally fake (I mean, the "cross" is only visual) and it's a new Toyota...

I like the body cladding because then I wouldn't have to worry about the paint as I go rallying on gravel/dirt roads.

I'm glad that you like it, but personally I hate it. I love the shitty and unusual economy cars, but this is awful. Looks like a boring Fiat. Like an average econobox.

Looks like a Yaris with added plastic and ride height. So following Subaru's proof of the stupidity of car buyers, Toyota is probably selling this with a $2,000 mark-up as a different, rugged, "off-roading" crossover.

Plasticky, but it does its job I guess.
Also looks like a Fiat Sedici/Suzuki SX4
